Gum Hygiene

Gum disease is the most common cause of tooth loss in Australian adults.

Periodontal or gum disease is caused by the bacteria in plaque attacking your gum tissue. Bleeding gums (gingitivitis), bad breath, sensitivity to hot and cold, or loose teeth can all be signs of gum disease.

If you experience red, swollen, tender or bleeding gums when brushing or gums that have receded, you may have gum disease. The good news is that a visit to Manly Dental Care can be a positive step towards reversing or stopping gum disease especially if treated in its early stages.
